Affiliate HOWTODo you know those "Webmaster" links at the bottom of all those porn and camgirl sites? They go to a place where you can sign up to send traffic to that site. Why would you want to send them traffic? Because you can get paid for it! Either by a signup reward or by revenue sharing where you get a percentage of what the customer spends. Now if you are already running webservers and DNS this becomes real easy. You buy a domain, set it up, add a website and sign up as an affiliated webmaster. I'm not going to teach you how to do all that here. This is about howto sign up as an affiliated webmaster. Also, there are free alternatives to hosting your own website. More on that later. Assuming you are already buying domains and running a webserver the rest is free and could end up paying for your internet connection. Step 1 - PreparationChoose a domain name. Register it and set up your DNS and Webserver. If you have never added a subdomain to a name server then perhaps this article isn't for you. Of course you only need to buy one domain. you can add new subdomians for each web site. Just create a new virtual domain for each subdomain. You can affiliate with as many sites as you can find webmaster links. [See list at bottom] Step 2 - Signing UpCreating an affiliate account. We are going to go through the process for registering with juggcash.com. If you mouse over that link you can see a tracking system code called "nats". I'll be talking more about that when we get to advertising webmaster referrals. This is the front page for the affiliate program. Here you can signup as an affiliate or login to your account if it is already created. To become an affiliate you will need a name, address and email address (and a tax ID if you are in the US.) Simply follow the onscreen instructions and fill out the forms. You might have to wait a day to be approved at some sites. Juggcash takes a minute or two although they call it instant. I'd call it faster than most. After you sign up; Go make a cup of coffee. By the time you get back your login should work. [After this HOWTO is a list of pages each pertaining to a single company's affiliate program with a banner at the top linking to the Webmaster signup and some example ads from some of the sites available from that hosting company.] Step 3 - Make WebsiteLogin to your new affiliate account and use the tools. The Id and password you got in step 2 get you into your affiliate account. Go to the tools section. Use the settings to configure ads and content for your website. Grab the code; Paste it into your site. Yes, it's that simple. Step 4 - Add Webmaster AdIn the tools you will find a webmaster referral link and/or banner. In it you will see your "nats" code. When a future webmaster sees your ad and decides to sign up, the company gives you a referral commission when he makes money. This is the same "nats" that gets you paid when your customers buy. There are other tracking systems but Juggcash our example site happens to use "nats". Click for Sample Site Step 5 - Promote Site. There are plenty of articles searchable in Google on promoting a website. The best thing to read about first is the Google Webmaster tools information. Open Google, Look for About Google toward the bottom of the opening page. Then find Submit your content to Google. Then look for webmaster tools. You need an account but the same account is used for gmail and other Google logins. So if you already have gmail don't create a new account; just login. If you don't have a webserver running in your basement, attic or spare room, you can sign up for a free blog. It's the low rent way to affiliatism. You don't need the DNS or the webserver.
